As every single tumblr user already knows; as of December 17th. all NSFW content is officially banned from Tumblr.
Well, what does this mean?
This means that all adult content (General porn, offensive porn, artistic nudes, photographic nudes, any thing that is depicted as nudity and/or sexual content) is officially banned on the site.
What’s gonna happen to All the NSFW artist and content creator?
I personally do not know. As of witnessing the outrage of this on twitter, some artist has taken to newgrounds for their content posting. I’ve been testing the waters of newgrounds and it hasn’t been very kind to my content.
I see some artist might make their own domain for content, some have even taken up deviantart, or posting on twitter, but that might just get NSFW content creators shadowbanned on twitter.
What about you?
I’m personally am moving to Pixiv (LINK) to continue to post FREE content. I don’t believe my work is Patreon worthy, so I will continue to not charge people for viewing my content.
Will you continue to post content on Tumblr until the new guidelines are in place?
No. Logically speaking, there’s no point on continue to posting NSFW content on this platform anymore. 95% of my content has been officially flagged by Tumblr. I’m not gonna even try to get them all reviewed, it’s a waste of time.
Instead I will be continually re-blogging this post everyday to promote my Pixiv page (LINK) and as well as my Twitter page (LINK). So we can start rebuilding the fan on another site outside of Tumblr.
Endnote:
It’s horrible that this is happening. With the long time history of NSFW being on tumblr, this change will be the sites downfall (opinion). I was hoping to hit 3k follows by the end of this year on tumblr and now it’ll never happen.
